Short Bio Sketch
Since July 2024, Dr. Nikolai Borisjuk (Mykola Borysyuk) is a senior researcher at the Department of Molecular Genetics, Institute of Cell Biology and Genetic Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
He graduated from the Shevchenko Kiev State University (Kyiv, Ukraine), majoring in microbiology in 1982 and obtained his PhD in molecular biology in 1988. In 1990 Dr. Borisjuk received a prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship to conduct research at the Tuebingen University in Germany. Since then he continued working at various international research Institutions in Germany, USA, Australia and China.
He has published more than sixty peer-reviewed research papers devoted to plant biodiversity, plant genome structure and evolution, plant genetic engineering and stress resistance in prestigious scientific journals such as Nature Biotechnology, PNAS, Biotechnology Advances, Plant Biotechnology Journal etc., authored 4 US Patents and edited 2 books.
