Dear Colleagues:

• We are pleased to invite you to take part in the 10th International Meeting on Recent Advances in Plant Biotechnology (RAPB 2024) dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the prominent scientist and the founder of Institute Cell Biology and Genetic Engineering (Kyiv, Ukraine) as well as Icon Genetics GmbH, Nomad Bioscience GmbH and Nambawan GmbH (Halle, Germany) Professor, Dr. of Science Yuri Gleba.

• RAPB 2024 will be held on 25-26 June 2024, Kyiv, Ukraine in the mixed mode (on-line\ offline). This conference continues the tradition of the Meetings which have been already organized by scientists of the Institute of Cell Biology and Genetic Engineering NAS of Ukraine since 1986. Despite russia’s brutal aggression against Ukraine, we continue our work for the development of plant biotechnology in our country. So we hope RAPB 2024 will become an event which will bring together scientists who are working in the fields of plant genetic engineering and plant biotechnology.

[edit] The RAPB 2024 happened!

We still can't believe it, but we did it! About 100 participants from 17 countries spent two wonderful days filled with the excellent talks concerning the history and the modern achievements of plant biotechnology. Organizing committee is whole-heartedly grateful for all the Speakers and Participants as only our joint efforts made this Meeting possible, important and interesting one!

This time, only part of the participants could be present offline, because we know that Kyiv is not the safest place right now. However, we really hope and want to host all guests of our next meeting in our safe, freed from the russian occupiers and full of hopes and prospects Ukrainian home.

Many factors tried to get in the way of the conference, the most threatening of which were the long blackouts and problems with Internet in Kyiv caused by russian aggression. However, thanks to the Ukrainian Scientific Institute of Plant Breeding (VNIS, https://vnis.com.ua/ ) we were able to overcome these difficulties! We are also grateful to the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth for providing the opportunity to broadcast the Meeting in the second day!

And of course we whole-heartedly grateful for the Armed Forces of Ukraine as we owe them every hour of this Meeting and every second of our lives!

Abstracts for either oral or poster presentation consideration are welcome. In order to ensure a consistent layout for publishing of your abstract, we have provided below instructions and an example of a properly formatted abstract. The deadline for abstract submission is 15 May 2024. All accepted abstracts accompanied only with a proper registration will be published in the RAPB 2024 on-line book of abstracts.

Abstracts (.doc or .docx) and payment confirmation should be submitted to rapb2023@gmail.com until 15th May, 2024.

• Guidelines for Abstract preparation to be presented at RAPB 2024

– The abstract must be written in English.

– Title should be typed in capital letters, using Times New Roman, in bold (14 pt font size) and centered.

– The authors’ full names in lower case (12 pt font) should be given along with their full affiliation details. In case of multiple authors, name of the presenting author should be underlined.

– Words (12 pt font) count for each abstract should not exceed 500 words (incl. acknowledgements if any; except for the references). The aim of the work, the methods used and the main results with eventual conclusions should be placed here.

– Up to 3 references are allowed (Times New Roman, 11 pt font size).

– The text should be single spaced and justified
